Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Competition 2026
Embassy of India Tokyo Invites Youth of Indian Diaspora in the age group of 21-25 years in Japan to participate in a competition to select 5 Youth Diaspora Members to represent Japan in the proposed Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) 2027. The winners will be nominated to participate in the Youth PBD in Kolakata in January 2027 with sponsorship of Ministry of External affairs. Participants can participate through Essay or Social Media reel. Last date for submission is 23rd September, 2026
Eligibility
Indian diaspora members residing in Japan.
Age: 21–25 years as on the final date of submission (23 September, 2026)
Proposed Theme: “Role of Youth in the Development of India”
- Participants may choose one of the following formats:
- Essay Writing : Participants may submit an essay discussing the role of youth in India’s social, economic, technological, cultural, or sustainable development.
Suggested length: 800–1,000 words.
- Social Media Reel : Participants may create a short video/reel highlighting the contribution that young people can make to India’s development.
Suggested duration: 60–90 seconds.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Applicants should be able to demonstrate an interest to connect with India and rapid progress being made by our country.
- The content should be original, informative, positive, and relevant to the theme.

- Each participant may participate in one of the category either an essay or a social media reel.
- One person can submit only one entry.
- Essay must be typed and submitted over mail to fsedu.tokyo@mea.gov.in. along with Entry Submission Form.
- Social media reel can also be submitted to fsedu.tokyo@mea.gov.in along with Entry Submission Form.
- Plagiarism of any kind will not be acceptable.
- Essays generated using Artificial Intelligence will lead to automatic disqualification.
- Receipt of submissions will NOT be acknowledged, and participants not selected will not be contacted.
- Decision of the selection committee shall be final, and no queries in this regard will be entertained. No inquiries concerning the judgement process will be accepted.
- All Entries to be submitted by : 23 September, Midnight (entries mailed after this will not be accepted)
ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS:
- Results are scheduled to be announced in October, 2026 and only the top five successful performers will be contacted. Candidates not selected will not be communicated and no query will be entertained in this regard.
- Entries received by post will NOT be accepted.
- Submit your Entry along with the Entry Submission Form (Click Link) to fsedu.tokyo@mea.gov.in on or before September 23, 2026, Midnight(JST)
