NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE FOR OBTAINING NEWBORN/MINOR’S PASSPORT IN INDIA

- Application to the Consular Officer on a plain sheet of paper explaining the purpose for which the service is required.
- Original passport (to be shown at the counter) and a copy thereof.
- Alien Registration card or Residence Card(to be shown at the counter) and a copy thereof.
- Download Affidavit – NOC from https://www.indembassy-tokyo.gov.in/downloads/Affidavit.pdf

-Duly filled in Affidavit

* Executant(s) are required to sign before the Consular Officer at the Embassy.
- Birth Certificate of the child (original and  photocopy) or  Passport copy of the  child.

* If the name of the spouse is not yet included in either of the parent’s passport, marriage certificate copy or any proof of marriage should be submitted.

-Original and a photocopy of the Power of Attorney

* Executant(s) are required to sign before the Consular Officer at the Embassy.

- Alien Registration card or Residence Card(to be shown at the counter) and a copy thereof.

CERTIFICATE ATTESTATION including  bachelorhood certificate, educational certificates, personal documents, driving license (Most of these documents need to be first notarized and pre-attested by CPV Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi- Patiala House, Tilak Marg or various Branch Secretariats of MEA in various States)

- Application to the Consular Officer on a plain sheet of paper explaining the purpose for which the service is required.

The document needs to be Notarized and Legalized /Apostilled by Ministry of Foreign Affairs Japan (MoFA) before submission to the Embassy for attestation.

RENUNCIATION OF INDIAN CITIZENSHIP

-Indian citizens acquiring foreign citizenship are required to ‘Renounce’ their Indian citizenship and surrender their Indian passports for cancellation. They are issued a ‘Surrender Certificate’ by the Embassy.

-Original Indian passport and a copy thereof.

- Original and copy of Certificate of Naturalization

- Download Renunciation Form from https://www.indembassy-tokyo.gov.in/downloads/Renunciation-Form.pdf

-Duly filled in and signed Renunciation Form

The above mentioned documents are general mandatory requirements.  The applicants may be requested to submit some more documents after scrutiny of the application at the counter, on a case to case basis.

OCI (Overseas Citizen of India

-Applications are done by online registration through Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India website https://passport.gov.in/oci

Re-issuance of OCI card

NOTE: The Mode of Payment for applicants seeking Passport, Consular and other services from the Republic of the Marshall Islands is through ‘Bank Transfer’ in Japanese Yen only  and the amount has to be remitted to  the Embassy of India Account Number  424123301000004 at Bank of India, Tokyo Branch;  SWIFT  CODE – BKIDJPJT

In addition to normal processing time of 4-6 weeks for applicants residing in Japan, it may take 10-12 days for the delivery of the passport by Registered Post at Marshall Islands, after its dispatch.
